Michael K. Harris - Writer/Director/Project Coordinator/Editor

In 1999 Michael K. Harris walked off his job at lunchtime, called in sick from a payphone...  and never went back.  The next day he purchased his first camera and begin producing his first movie...

Since then he wrote, directed and edited 5 feature films and a host of other projects produced by New Visions Film Group.  The Group's first feature REFLECTIONS, won "Best Southern Creative Filmmaker" in the Memphis Writers Conference and Southern Film Festival 2002 and a "Finalist" in 2003 Spaghetti Junction Film Festival.

In 2004 the group's second feature,
The Common Denominators  which features "Baba Oje" from the grammy award winning hip hop group "Arrested Development" was an "Official Selection"
in the 2006 Independent Black Film Festival - Atlanta

Michael completed production on a third movie in 2006,..."The Chip Factor" an urban sci-fi drama featuring "Professor Griff" and commentary from "Chuck D" of "Public Enemy", which Michael wrote, directed and edited.  The Chip Factor and The Common Denominators, received national distribution during the Fall of 2007.  In the Spring of 2008, both films also received international distribution in Europe and Asia.

Michael recently completed work on the group's latest thriller feature... Wanga Woman, which was finished during Fall 2008.
The group has also started pre-production on their 2009 production schedule which already includes two more films on the table.  Their latest feature...
"The Audition"... How do you handle rejection, is scheduled for
"Spring 2010".

In addition to working on projects produced by N.V.F.G... Michael also concentrates his time on projects such as "Schuman's National Underclassmen Combine" football training camp where he films sports footage of high school students throughout the Southeast.  In addition he also filmed footage for the upcoming reality T.V. series... "The Real Women of Atlanta.

Michael currently serves as Project Coordinator for N.V.F.G. and he attributes his success to his focused energy, people skills, determination and the effectiveness of his team.

Mazola Brown - Executive Producer Assistant Project Coordinator

Mazola, who plays an extensive role in the overall administration and planning, predominantly serves as Executive Producer for projects produced by the group.  In 1999 her first feature assignment was on the feature REFLECTIONS.  Mazola worked with our production team that planned the project from pre to post production.  In addition, she was Set Designer and Make-up Artist.  The film won "Best New Southern Creative Filmmaker" in the "Memphis Black Writers Conference and Southern Film Festival 2002".

Her capacity to wear many hats... Assistant Director, Second Camera Person, Photographer... just to name a few, has definitely added to the success of this project.  Her most recent work can be seen on The Common Denominators and our latest feature,  The Chip Factor.  Both of these films received national distribution during the fall of 2007.  She recently completed working on the group's latest thriller feature... Wanga Woman, which was finished in the Fall of 2008.  Mazola recently completed production on the group's latest feature scheduled to be released in "Spring 2010"... "The Audition"... How do you Handle Rejection?,.
